About the Artist

Hello, and welcome to my website.

Painting gives me joy.

The daughter of Danish immigrants, I was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and have recently moved back to my ancestral lands in Denmark. Ever inspired by the beauty  that surrounds me, I embrace a wide variety of  subjects and motifs.

My work is most often representational, and falls into the category of modern impressionism. The luminosity afforded by oil paints is extraordinary, and therefore oil is my most preferred medium ( so far ).  I see artistic styles as existing on a spectrum and enjoy exploring "crossover" projects that employ elements of abstraction. To me these are all tools I can use to convert a visual experience into a visceral one.

My paintings and my style are my signature. Within them I portray the joyful scenes I experience on my journey through life.  Focusing on an exploration of varieties of colour, compositon and forms of unity, I share my experience of radiant light, capturing and preserving on canvas those shimmering instants in time that remind  us we are always surrounded by magic.
